Sonal Kalra is an Indian Journalist, author and podcaster. Presently, working as Chief Managing Editor ( Entertainment & Lifestyle ), Hindustan Times. She is a gold medalist from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi. She has also received numerous awards for her contributions to the field of journalism.

Sonal Kalra works as a journalist and feature writer since 1996. Entertainment, Art and Lifestyle are her many areas of contribution. She serves as the head of Entertainment, Art and Lifestyle sections of supplements of HT City in New Delhi and HT Cafe in Mumbai. Apart from her published book, she has co-authored ‘E-government Toolkit for developing countries’. Her column, India’s answer to single entry portals published in Indian government website was presented and published at the international conference on Digital Government research 2008, Montreal.

HT Power Couples series is one of her notable works where she interviewed many powerful couples of Bollywood Industry at their homes, like Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Sonal Kalra is a recipient of many prestigious awards including the Ramnath Goenka award as Best Film Journalist, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Award, United Nations Cultural Relations Media Award 2015, Excellence in Journalism award 2010 and 2012 by International think tank GPS, and Outstanding contribution to Journalism’ award 2009 from the WPO.
